Job description

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced hydrologic and hydraulic models for stormwater and flood control projects.
  • Design and evaluate flood conveyance systems, detention facilities, and drainage infrastructure.
  • Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, project updates, and invoices.
  • Build strong client relationships and support business development.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers to support their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple office locations.
  • Provide advanced modeling solutions and analysis for both public and private sector projects.
  • Conduct 1D/2D watershed hydrologic analysis for master planning and flood control designs.
  • Organize, write, and edit proposals, reports, and documentation.
  • Identify and pursue new clients and business opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage junior staff on project assignments.
  • Coordinate with teams across different locations and disciplines as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
  • Contribute to internal and external technical presentations and publications.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) credential.
  • At least 6 years of civil/site design experience focused on water resources.
  • Expertise in stormwater management, drainage design, H&H modeling, and SWPPP.
  • Proficient with HEC-HMS, ARC-MAP, SWMM, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS.
  • Strong communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; OpenRoads experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of local land use regulations and permitting.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for fieldwork and meetings.
