SmithGroup is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our East Region in one of the following offices: Boston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, or Charlotte.
Working with us, you will:
Marketing Management (40%)
  • Coach and mentor the regional pursuit team, focusing on continuous professional growth, tailored development opportunities, and goal setting.
  • Manage regional pursuit workloads, balancing resource allocation, team capacity, and project priorities.
  • Oversee quality control for pursuit-related deliverables and ensures critical data and marketing assets are accurately maintained in core systems.
  • Partner with marketing leadership across regions to elevate best practices, streamline tools, and build team effectiveness.

Pursuit Strategy & Execution (40%)
  • Partner with studio and business leaders to develop and execute pursuit, interview, and client engagement strategies.
  • Guide strategic go/no-go discussions, capture planning, and win strategy development.
  • Coach pursuit teams in developing compelling proposals, presentations, and interview content.
  • Monitor pursuit performance metrics, win rates, and pipeline activity to identify trends and inform strategic decision-making.

Prepositioning & Growth Strategy (20%)
  • Lead or support lead tracking, opportunity research, competitive intelligence, and capture planning efforts.
  • Partner with regional and firmwide leadership to identify market trends, client opportunities, and strategic marketing initiatives that advance regional growth objectives.
  • Collaborate on annual marketing plans to expand the firm's regional market share.

An ideal candidate has:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in the A/E/C industry required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of management experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and InDesign required.
  • Experience with CRM, digital asset management, and proposal automation systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, OpenAsset, or similar platforms preferred.
  • CPSM certification preferred.
  • The ability to successfully mentor staff in a manner that supports continuous learning, team collaboration and career development.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, passion for details and ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • The ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Strong technical, graphic, and presentation skills.
