Member Service Representative

Do you have a passion for customer service, helping others find financial security, and being a part of your community?

As the Member Service Representative, you'll be a vital part of our branch operations, managing a variety of tasks that keep our loans, products, and services on track and aligned with Credit Union standards. From processing loans and maintaining proper documents to tracking compliance and keeping members and coworkers informed, your role will be central to ensuring efficiency and accuracy. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with a drive to satisfy the financial needs of others, multi-task, and stay organized.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist members with loan and credit card applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Process and disburse loan proceeds, ensuring proper documentation and scheduling loan closings with members.
  • Complete month-end reporting and ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Help members open and close accounts, including investments and IRA accounts, while maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Conduct necessary checks, such as SSN verification, to prevent fraudulent accounts or accounts with outstanding balances.
  • Serve as a liaison between members and various departments, ensuring clear communication.
  • Process and authenticate financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wires, and more.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities for Credit Union products and services to enhance member engagement.
  • Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry, equipment maintenance, and answering phones.
  • Register and participate in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) as required.
  • Provide notary services (if applicable) in compliance with state regulations.
  • Act as the Membership Officer, supporting high levels of member satisfaction.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Experience: Up to 3 years of related experience in a financial or banking environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with members and colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of BSA/OFAC compliance, with the ability to assist members with related inquiries.
  • Certifications: Must be willing to register and participate in NMLS, and Notary Public certification may be required.
  • Miscellaneous: Must complete annual BSA training and maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
