Position Title: Math and Reading Interventionist Teacher

Company Description:
At Mrs. Myers' Learning Lab, we help children discover the joy of learning reading and math. Our mission is to provide high quality reading support and intervention services to children ages 3 to 12. According to the National Center for Education Statistics(2019) 66% of 4th grade students perform below grade level in reading. Because of this, supplementary education is a growing trend. They will learn to read using a kinesthetic learning approach. Our “Whole Child " learning techniques incorporate sight, hearing, touch, and movement. The combination of these senses influence learning and memory. Our multi-sensory techniques engage children in reading, and better prepares them for lifelong learning. In 2020, Mrs. Myers’ Learning Lab expanded upon its tried and true programming by adding a math program that encompasses the same approach as what the reading program has been built on. Because of this, Mrs. Myers’ Learning Lab offers both reading and math intervention support.

Position Overview:

Essential functions include:
  • Communicate effectively with parents through both oral and written communication. This includes routinely monitoring and reporting out student goals and progress.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver individualized instruction based on established goals
  • Create a positive climate for student learning
  • Meet course and program-wide student performance goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions.
  • Utilize MMLL curricula and resources to address the needs of each individual learner
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all activities
  • Regular and timely parent communication through a variety of methods
  • Utilizing positive redirection, manage student behavior in the classroom through age- appropriate behavior strategies.
  • Follow established procedures for student book editing/ printing.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to teach in a multi-dimensional environment
  • Technology experience including proficiency in the use of iPads.
  • Knowledge and experience using a variety of assessment tools and analyzing data
  • Knowledgeable about the development of early and elementary aged children
  • Experience utilizing a variety of learner-centered, classroom management strategies

Requirements:
  • Must hold teaching certification. 
  • Or hold a Bachelor’s Degree working toward teaching certification.
  • Or enrolled in a teacher education program
  • Attend site-specific staff meetings, conferences, and all professional learning meetings
  • Required 30 Hours of Curriculum Specific training
  • Bi-Weekly Support meetings with MMLL administration
  • Monthly Teacher Development meetings with MMLL staff
  • Ongoing Professional Development with MMLL Leadership
