Productions involve the entire process of creating media content, including planning, filming, and post-production. Film editors specifically focus on assembling and editing footage during post-production. While both roles are essential in media creation, productions encompass a broader scope, whereas film editors specialize in editing tasks within the production process.

How do I get into productions?

To get into productions, you typically need relevant skills such as technical knowledge of production equipment, experience with software like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut, and often a background in media, film, or related fields. Entry-level roles may require internships or assistant positions to gain hands-on experience and build a network in the industry.

What careers are in film productions?

Careers in film productions include roles such as film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, production designer, and sound engineer. These roles require skills in storytelling, technical knowledge of cameras and editing software, and often involve working on set or in post-production environments.

What jobs are considered production jobs?

Production jobs include roles involved in the creation, assembly, and manufacturing of goods or media. Common positions are production assistants, operators, technicians, supervisors, and managers, often requiring knowledge of equipment, safety protocols, and sometimes certifications. These jobs are found in industries like manufacturing, film, television, and live events.
