Hexcel (NYSE: HXL) is currently seeking a Product Manager in Salt Lake City, UT Matrix location. The Product Manager will be responsible to define and manage the assigned Matrix product range in order to assure that both short- and long-term sales and profit targets are achieved, and to create and manage the implementation of long-term growth strategies within the market segment.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Partner with Commercial and Demand Management teams to support short and longterm forecasting for assigned product lines.
  • Develop and execute product/market positioning strategies, incorporating pricing, product development, manufacturing capabilities, LTAs, competitive landscape, and promotions.
  • Maintain strong understanding of site P&L and balance sheet; recommend and influence crossfunctional actions to achieve goals and stretch targets.
  • Serve as site authority on product costing, profitability, and customer/market acceptance for assigned products or markets.
  • Lead crossfunctional PreQualification and Qualification efforts, coordinating sales, customer interactions, R&T, customer service, and operations to meet commitments.
  • Manage key programs to maximize customer responsiveness by aligning manufacturing, technical, and sales activities and resolving issues.
  • Support site sales and marketing activities, including customer visits and recurring crossfunctional meetings (weekly and monthly).
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with market trends and customer needs.
  • Define requirements for new product introductions and provide guidance through R&T development, industrialization, launch, and gotomarket execution.
  • Establish product costing and investment models, validate assumptions, support pricing and sales communications, and apply strong business acumen to strategic decisionmaking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering
  • At least 4 + years of experience with cross-functional assignments in the functions of engineering, production, quality, finance, purchasing, program management, pricing, contracts, business management, marketing, account management or sales preferably in the commercial aerospace industry or composites manufacturing
  • Proven business acumen including experience in pricing and proposal development, interpreting financial models, analytical skills, preparation of product strategies, developing project plans, and leading cross-functional program or product teams
  • Leadership and influence skills to organize and direct the work of others in a matrix team environment without formal reporting relationships
  • Strong communication and relational skills to be able to work effectively across all areas of the business
  • Ability to understand business needs, think strategically, and incorporate multiple perspectives and complex considerations into clear, well-communicated decisions
  • Ability for up to 20% occasional US travel to visit customers
  • Current computer literacy is a must, including full proficiency in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Qualified candidate must be a US Citizen or US national person.
