Job description

The Production Specialist researches, writes, assembles, and presents executive briefing products in support of steady state, incident management postures, and in support of special events. The Production Specialist provides products to senior executives daily, utilizing a variety of reports from internal and external sources, ensuring information is properly triaged to ensure accurate information sharing and awareness for senior leaders.

  • Research, write and assemble executive briefing products in support of steady state and incident management postures, and in support of special events.
  • Prepare and present oral briefings for senior executive-level audiences based on the synthesis and detailed research of information. 
  • Provide a full range of production services from creating briefing presentations, and building and producing briefing books, to managing electronic distribution lists, and facilitating electronic presentations via video-teleconference.
  • Ensure that products and presentations are produced in accordance with established style guides and standards.
  • Organize and maintain electronic records of reference materials and final products.
  • Monitors, organizes, and maintains group email boxes and calendars. These processes take place in both unclassified and classified environments.
  • Must be flexible with assigned hours to meet product production, preparation and distribution.
  • May be required to provide surge support to augment 24 hours a day / 7 days a week (24/7) incident management operations on an as needed basis.   
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, or English preferred. 
  • An additional (2) two years of experience may be substituted with an Associate’s degree, and additional (4) four years of experience may be substituted with a high school diploma.
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in developing communications products.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Experience in researching, writing, and assembling briefing products for a wide variety of clients to include senior leaders.
  • Preparation and presentation of oral briefings for a wide variety of clients, to include senior leaders, based on the synthesis and detailed research of information.
  • Ability to comprehend and assess a vast amount of highly technical information in a time constrained environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office; including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and other general software applications.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment.

Working Conditions

  • Professional office environment with the ability to work on-site.

  • Hours may vary from 8 – 12 hours depending on needs to support 24/7/365 operations.

  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
