Summary/objective

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily production activities within an IQF herb processing facility. This role ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of employee safety, food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency. The Production Supervisor provides leadership to production personnel, monitors production performance, and promotes continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential functions

  • Supervise daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements. \
  • Lead, coach, and motivate production employees to achieve productivity and quality goals. 
  •  Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SQF, FDA, Organic, Kosher, and company food safety policies. 
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and maintain accurate production and quality documentation. 
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Procurement departments. 
  • Minimize downtime by working closely with maintenance on equipment issues and preventive maintenance. 
  •  Optimize labor utilization and production efficiency while controlling waste and yield losses. 
  • Conduct employee training in workplace safety, food safety, sanitation, and equipment operation.
  • Ensure sanitation procedures are completed according to company and regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure allergen control procedures are strictly followed.
  • Investigate production issues, document, and implement corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Analyze production reports and recommend process improvements. 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture. 
  •  Maintain traceability and lot control throughout production. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

•    High school diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. 
•    3–5 years of food manufacturing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role. 
•    Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, Organic, and Kosher regulations. 
•    Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed. 
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems is preferred, i.e., Microsoft Dymanics365, Redzone, etc.

Work Schedule

Full-time, first-shift position with flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments, as needed.

Required education and experience

  • 2-5 years of food manufacturing experience (preferably in the IQF process). 
  • 2 years of Supervision experience.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.

Compensation & Pay Transparency (California)

The annual base salary for this position is $75,500.00 - $98,500.00. This range reflects the Company’s good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

The Company reserves the right to modify compensation and benefits in accordance with applicable law.
