Position Summary: The Production Planner will perform the duties to plan/support manufacturing of parts and assemblies that will allow Sunnen to meet our customers' needs by delivering superior products on time to meet order requirements. The position is critical to the assembly and timely delivery of Sunnen products to our customers in a cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicate with appropriate departments in order to create an approach to manufacture parts needed by analyzing customer purchase orders, while maintaining a cost-effective inventory of parts on hand.
  • Obtain descriptions, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, etc. for new products to be manufactured by Sunnen. Have the flexibility to make changes to those items as required by our customers
  • Continuously investigate potential vendors to work to improve the profitability of the company through lower supply and delivery prices.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School or Trade School Diploma/Certification; Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Advanced skills equivalent of one to three years of applied trades training with a solid machining background and advanced blueprint reading skills (Preferred)
  • Ability to make modifications to equipment, CNC programs, and computers to input updated and correct data. (Preferred)
  • Ability to use high school math skills, such as algebra and geometry; complicated specification drawings, and precision measuring instruments; accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain a strong, professional insight leading to company profitability.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and oral, with others in a professional, business manner.
