Essential Functions:
  • Lead daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, assign, and coordinate work to maximize the effective use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Monitor production performance and make adjustments as needed to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met by verifying inspection processes and supporting corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that enhance productivity, efficiency, quality, and employee engagement.
  • Train, develop, and onboard new employees while supporting the ongoing development of existing team members.
  • Administer company policies and procedures fairly and consistently while fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve operational performance.
  • Monitor labor utilization, overtime, downtime, scrap, and rework while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production reports, timekeeping records, and other operational documentation.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide coaching, feedback, and accountability to production employees through performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and recognition
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Reports directly to the Production Manager.
  • Maintains accountability for departmental safety, quality, productivity, delivery performance, and cost control.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, production processes, and workflow management.
  • Makes sound operational decisions while adapting quickly to changing business priorities.
  • Builds positive working relationships across all departments to support plant objectives.
  • Promotes employee engagement through effective communication, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Maintains accurate production records and utilizes business systems to support daily operations.
  • Regularly uses Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems to analyze production performance and complete administrative responsibilities.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • Preferred Bachelors with 5+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, quality systems, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, production documents, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to analyze operational issues, prioritize work, and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience using ERP or manufacturing execution systems.
  • Proven ability to improve safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, and employee development.
  • A passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional business results.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is performed in a factory setting, with most of the time being spent moving around different areas of manufacturing and shipping areas. The incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. This position will be exposed to all hazards located at manufacturing sites including noise, fumes, excessive heat/cold, dust, welding arc, all chemicals associated with the manufacturing areas, smoke, and confined spaces. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. This position may require long hours to support production initiatives for a two-shift operation.
The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds in working with large files, binders, and boxes of paper. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
