As a User Researcher on the Economy team, reporting directly to the Director of Design Strategy & Operations, you will generate actionable qualitative and quantitative insights that shape core economic systems, developer monetization workflows, and immersive brand experiences. Embedded directly on product teams, you will conduct generative and evaluative research centered on how creators build businesses, how brands interact on the platform, and how users participate in virtual economies. You will tackle high-priority features, solve complex behavioral puzzles, and help translate multi-faceted economic infrastructure into intuitive, trustworthy, and scalable experiences. Partnering closely with Product, Product Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Policy, you will ensure user needs directly inform platform decisions while driving mutual value across players, creators, and brands.

You will:

  • Execute end-to-end mixed-methods research projects to understand creator monetization, payouts, advertising, and commerce workflows, translating abstract user behaviors into clear product feature recommendations.
  • Conduct foundational research to uncover key user pain points, mental models, and behaviors across creators, players, and brands to guide long-term UX strategy.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in Design, Product, Policy, Legal, Engineering, and Data Science to facilitate research discussions and give concise feedback to inform feature roadmaps and product vision.
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science to combine qualitative insights with behavioral platform data, building a holistic view of user engagement and economic health.
  • Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to evolve research processes and foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Have opportunities to present your research findings and strategic implications clearly to Product Group leadership.

You have:

  • 4+ years of professional career experience as a UX or product researcher.
  • A Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in HCI, psychology, marketing research, sociology, anthropology, or other social science field with an emphasis on research, or equivalent work experience.

Preferably has experience using software vendors like Qualtrics, database analysis with SQL and can conduct statistical analyses in SPSS, R or Python.
  • Engaged in collaboration and sharing work frequently, inviting feedback from peers and manager or supervisor
  • Solutions and a tuned thought process that ensure research will adequately answer questions and even challenge if the questions being asked are the right ones.
  • The ability to articulate and research findings clearly through verbal, written, and visual communication
