POSITION SUMMARY
Location: On-site at Kraken Kinetics facilities in the Pinehurst, NC area
The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for facility readiness, maintenance coordination, equipment support, utilities coordination, vendor management, and facility support systems across Kraken Kinetics facilities, including production sites, engineering/support spaces, storage areas, and assigned test range support infrastructure.
This role keeps Kraken facilities functional, organized, maintained, and available for scheduled work by coordinating infrastructure support, preventive maintenance, equipment repair, contractor activity, facility projects, and readiness tracking across multiple sites.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on facilities and maintenance professional capable of supporting production, engineering, logistics, testing, and business operations in a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Operations and Readiness
  • Maintain readiness of production, engineering, storage, office, support, and assigned test range support areas.
  • Coordinate workspace setup, utilities, access support, housekeeping, and facility readiness requirements.
  • Identify and resolve facility constraints affecting production, material flow, testing support, or business operations.
  • Support facility changes, expansions, relocations, and improvement projects across multiple sites.

Maintenance and Equipment Support
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance for general facility systems and production-supporting equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment repair, troubleshooting, maintenance scheduling, and return-to-service activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records, service logs, repair history, and equipment readiness documentation.
  • Track equipment readiness, recurring maintenance issues, downtime drivers, and repair priorities.
  • Support spare parts identification, maintenance supply needs, and equipment service planning.

Vendor and Contractor Management
  • Coordinate outside vendors, contractors, service providers, inspectors, and maintenance support personnel.
  • Manage contractor access, scheduling, work scope coordination, site requirements, and completion verification.
  • Maintain vendor documentation, service records, facility support agreements, and maintenance-related documentation.
  • Support vendor selection input, service scheduling, quote coordination, and issue resolution.

Utilities, Infrastructure, and Facility Systems
  • Coordinate support for electrical, HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, utilities, access support systems, and other facility systems.
  • Monitor facility system performance and escalate infrastructure risks, outages, repair needs, or improvement opportunities.
  • Support equipment installation, relocation, commissioning, and facility modification activities.
  • Maintain visibility of facility constraints, infrastructure needs, and site readiness issues.

Facility Projects and Improvement
  • Support facility layout changes, production-area setup, storage-area improvements, and workspace optimization.
  • Coordinate facility projects required to support production scaling, new equipment installation, workflow improvement, or site expansion.
  • Maintain facility project tracking, action items, vendor coordination status, and completion records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility reliability, maintainability, organization, and operational readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, maintenance management, industrial maintenance, manufacturing support, equipment maintenance, or related operational roles.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, technical production, defense, aerospace, or regulated operating environments.
  • Strong understanding of facility systems, preventive maintenance, equipment repair coordination, vendor management, and workspace readiness.
  • Ability to coordinate facility and maintenance activities across multiple sites and operational priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain service records, maintenance schedules, vendor documentation, and readiness tracking.
  • Ability to work hands-on in facility, production, maintenance, warehouse, and equipment-support environments.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, test range support infrastructure, or low-volume high-complexity production operations.
  • Experience with CMMS, maintenance tracking systems, facility work order systems, or equipment service records.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, equipment installations, facility modifications, and production support projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, fire safety, environmental controls, ITAR/EAR, CMMC, and defense manufacturing compliance environments.
  • Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs, equipment readiness metrics, spare parts planning, or facility expansion projects.
