Job description

Supply Chain Planner I Job, Alpharetta, GA

Arclin USA is currently looking for a Supply Chain Planner I job for our Alpharetta, GA location. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is responsible for end-to-end planning for assigned manufacturing location(s). This will include aspects of Inventory Management, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, and Production Planning. This will be accomplished by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of customer and company’s products, policies, systems and supply chains.  The incumbent will work closely with manufacturing, distribution, supply planning and sales to ensure achievement of “Customer Delight” objectives.

Supply Chain Planner I Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively utilize MRP’s and other tools to review inventory projections & supply-demand summaries to prevent potential shortages or excessive inventory and demurrage.

  • Implement and maintain inventory and material management strategies by regular review and optimization of inventory parameters and levels (e.g. reorder pt, safety stock, ABC categorization, forecast bias, etc.). Set up inventory targets and monitor actual inventory levels vs. targets.

  • Ability to assess purchasing options, calculate total into stock costs and analyzing cost reduction opportunities to optimize total spend by optimizing loads via combining various products onto a single order, pre-ordering as needed to reduce costs, surveying alternative suppliers for cost reductions, adjusting hub-spoke networks as needed to reduce costs, etc.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and define corrective action plans to avoid reoccurrence. Review out of stock situations or shortage of supply issues and recommend mitigations. Utilize exception reports to identify and correct potential out of stock issues.

  • Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize aged inventory and eventual write-offs.

  • Review and update inputs monthly to calculate safety stocks and inventory targets.

  • Track and reconcile weekly/monthly metrics versus established targets.

Supply Chain Planner I Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or other related field

  • 3 years of customer service/supply chain experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Expertise with various ERP systems within a production environment

  • Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Drive for process improvement and ability to perform root cause analysis

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Strong customer orientation
