Job description

Mill Batching Operator (Food Manufacturing) - Night Shift
Join our family-owned team as a Mill Batching Operator where you will be responsible for accurately mixing ingredients required for product formulations, while assisting with ingredient receiving and inventory management. The Mill Batching Operator is proficient in ensuring quality product mixing and processes are being implemented at Diamond Pet Foods. Your expertise will help us deliver safe, consistent, and top-quality food products to our customers around the clock. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast/steady-paced environment dedicated to creating Diamond Pet Foods.
Pay Rate:
$20.00 per hour
Plus $2.50 per hour night shift differential

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform ingredient receiving function, and scheduling and routing correct formulas.
  • Have overall knowledge of mill processing and ration flow.
  • Reassign ingredient/micro bins correctly following proper procedures.
  • Maintain First-In-First-Out inventory management system and have proficient knowledge of the various bagged ingredients.
  • Responsible for filling up propane cylinders as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate ingredient inventories and communicate all potential shortages.
  • Maintain orderly production records.
  • Understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, and HACCP.
  • Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
  • Keep work area clean and maintain assigned portion of master sanitation schedule.
  • Report all safety violations and hazards to the supervisor immediately and participate in all safety programs and procedures. Must always wear required PPE.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug screen, background check, and physical.)
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work well under pressure.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is primarily performed indoors and outdoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles.
  • Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures and with extended standing time.
  • Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
