This position participates on a cross functional team supporting operations, maintenance, customer load out and quality control to ensure the safe operation of the manufacturing process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Operates computerized process control stations which control heavy manufacturing equipment in a minerals processing plant.
  • Monitors and maintains quality control systems and procedures.
  • Monitors and observes assigned area for abnormal conditions and emergency situations.
  • Works and interacts with outside contractors, customers and agencies.
  • Participates in safety reviews and other training activities.
  • Maintains proper and safe process operations of the operating equipment.
  • Performs maintenance related activities including welding, fabrication, housekeeping and other labor-intensive activities.
  • Completes inspections and reports and deviations from standards.
  • Loads out customer orders including bulk and bagging operations.
  • Operates mobile equipment including skid loaders, wheel loaders, fork lifts, lifts and other heavy manufacturing mobile equipment.
  • Upholds company values, understands and implements all company policies and procedures to ensure all work meets required standards.
  • Position requires shift work including 12 hour shifts that may rotate supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

Reports to the Plant Superintendent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Field of Study Preferred: Industry related field experience preferred.

Preferred Work Experience: 1-2 years in manufacturing operation including process control and maintenance experience.

Preferred Computer and Software Skills : Knowledge of processing methods and laboratory techniques and equipment operation. Proficiency with MS Office.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
