Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures, and applicable government regulations
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
  • Manage production operations ranging from dragline operations, hauling of raw material, and finished product processing
  • Set production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources, and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. Responsible for plant safety, health, and environment
  • Leads the safety culture and ensures the safety of team members
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the group in an aggregate production environment to produce quality material at or below production cost
  • Follows established procedures for operating various conventional production tasks to produce quality aggregate materials
  • Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery/production operations
  • Responsibilities are with the Operations Functions as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
  • Exercises independent judgement
  • Look for improvement opportunities
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support or production team
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors
  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from the manager
  • Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree or equivalent education plus minimum experience of 3 years as a Plant Supervisor, Mining Engineer, or Assistant Plant Manager of an aggregate or industrial minerals processing facility.
