Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Culture (The Heart of Team Green)

  • Lead and Mentor: Recruit, train, and develop a dedicated team of drivers, technicians, and operations personnel, fostering a supportive environment built on mutual respect and progressive development.

  • Champion "Team Green" Standards: Drive high appearance and operational standards, ensuring all employees are proudly and safely outfitted in proper GFL uniforms.

  • Advocate for Your Team: Ensure fair treatment, adhere strictly to wage and hour guidelines, conduct meaningful annual performance reviews, and advocate for compensation adjustments that recognize hard work.

Operational & Safety Excellence

  • Drive a Safety-First Culture: Champion an active, engaging safety program. Lead monthly safety meetings, conduct routine route observations, investigate accidents thoroughly, and proactive prevent workplace injuries.

  • Streamline Operations: Set daily priorities to meet and exceed customer service commitments, utilizing personnel and equipment effectively across all collection and disposal services.

  • Compliance & Logistics: Ensure all drivers and operations remain 100% DOT compliant. Keep a close eye on driver logs, truck reports, daily vehicle inspections, and complete routine route audits.

Financial & Strategic Growth

  • Manage the Bottom Line: Partner with leadership to execute a branch profit plan focusing on revenue retention, cost-of-operations management, productivity benchmarking, and capital requirements.

  • Data-Driven Success: Keep our operations running smoothly by entering and analyzing product line data within our internal systems (Tower) daily.

What You Bring to the Team
  • Proven Leadership: 2-3 years of hands-on management experience in the waste industry, logistics, heavy industrial, or a similar blue-collar sector.

  • Education: A BA/BS degree is desired, but equivalent real-world leadership and operational experience are highly valued.

  • Safety Mindset: Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a strong plus.

  • Communication & Grit: Strong communication skills with the ability to connect authentically with drivers on the yard and present performance data clearly to executive leadership.
