Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Production Operations Transformation will lead the evolution of production support capabilities across CorpFinFCU and Engineering portfolios, driving the organization's transition toward an A2030-aligned Silent-Ops operating model. Reporting directly to the Line of Technology Operations (LTO) leadership team, this role is accountable for modernizing production operations through automation, predictive monitoring, self-healing capabilities, Agentic AI, and end-to-end operational governance.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to improve service reliability, reduce operational toil, accelerate incident prevention, and establish a highly automated, scalable, and resilient production support model.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Lead support for critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to established service level agreements (SLA`s).
  • Proactive monitoring and rapid incident resolution, root cause analysis
  • And continuous service improvement to maintain high availability, stability and operational resilience.

Silent-Ops Strategy & Operational Excellence

  • Lead the design, implementation, and operationalization of the Silent-Ops production support model across CorpFinFCU and Engineering portfolios.
  • Develop and execute transformation roadmaps aligned with A2030 automation and operational excellence objectives.
  • Drive reduction of manual intervention through automation, orchestration, and intelligent operational processes.
  • Establish operational KPIs and governance frameworks to measure Silent-Ops maturity and business outcomes.

Automation & Predictive Operations

  • Champion proactive environment management through predictive alerting, observability, and data-driven operational insights.
  • Partner implementation of automated resolution capabilities to prevent incidents and minimize service disruptions.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives across production environments.
  • Partner with engineering and platform teams to integrate automation into operational processes.

Agentic AI & Self-Healing Platforms

  • Lead development and operationalization of self-healing and auto-remediation solutions leveraging Agentic AI technologies.
  • Drive adoption of intelligent workflow automation to accelerate incident detection, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Establish governance, controls, and performance metrics for AI-driven operational capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance operational effectiveness.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary operations and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with senior technology leaders to align operational transformation initiatives with enterprise objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional engagement across application, infrastructure, cloud, platform, and security teams.
  • Present progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership and governance forums.

Risk & Governance

  • Strengthen end-to-end operational governance, service management, and accountability frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise policies, risk controls, and audit requirements.
  • Drive operational resilience, service availability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead major incident reviews and identify opportunities for automation and operational optimization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must have bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure environments in large scale, mission critical organizations.
  • Extensive experience administering and trouble shooting Windows ( 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) and Linux Operating Systems
  • Strong expertise in infrastructure platforms including virtualization technologies, Containerization technologies, Compute, Storage, Networking, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Enterprise Back up, recovery and high availability solutions.
  • 10+ years of experience in Production Operations with strict uptime, availability, and reliability
  • Experience with Monitoring, Observability, and incident management. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Operations, or Technology Operations leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale operational transformation and automation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, observability, monitoring, automation frameworks, and modern production support practices.
  • Experience implementing self-healing, auto-remediation, AI-driven operations (AIOps), or Agentic AI capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide change.

  • Proactively monitors system performance and identifies operational improvements, in ensuring smooth and consistent customer and business partner delivery.
  • Supports deployment activities, managing implementation issues to resolution.
  • Provides initial triage, investigation and ensures fast turnaround times on issue/incident resolution.
  • Monitors technical infrastructure, applications and/or business transactions through automated systems and instrumentation across the environment.
  • Provides inbound call assistance to end-users for application, technical, and IMACD needs leveraging the knowledge base and/or run books available.
  • Collaborates and engages with the appropriate areas across the bank.
  • Develops or helps to develop the knowledge assets required for the operation.
  • Promotes adherence to standards and industry best practices.
  • Develops an understanding of organizational interactions and complexity to engage with the appropriate matrix areas.
  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen the operational capability, such as: sharing expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks across technology.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
