Job description

Job Summary:
Responsible for leading all production operations within the EMV manufacturing department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output. Accountable for achieving departmental KPIs in safety, scrap reduction, productivity, on-time delivery, and cost control, while developing a high-performing operations team. Drives performance through Lean manufacturing, KPI management, and strong team leadership. Partners with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
  • Lead daily EMV production operations to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Execute production schedules and ensure alignment with customer requirements and inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs: safety, scrap, efficiency, throughput, cost.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and rapid issue resolution.

Quality and Continuous Improvement
  • Reduce scrap and rework through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with EMV, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing, standard work, and process optimization initiatives.

Cost & Performance Management
  • Manage departmental budget and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Provide monthly performance and P&L insights to leadership.

People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production staff.
  • Ensure training, cross-training, and skill development to support operational flexibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes.

Accountabilities:
  • Quality of finished goods.
  • Meeting production and shipping schedules.
  • Compliance with and attainment of departmental KPIs.
  • Maintaining and achieving scrap reduction goals.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance.
  • Workforce training and development.
  • General maintenance and performance of the department.

Job Specifications:
  • Work performed in a light industrial setting.
  • Exposure to shop noise.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and move about facilities.
  • Travel, including international.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing/operations leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, including statistical reasoning.
  • Experience with operational controls, manufacturing processes, logistics, safety, and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing teams and driving performance.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and GMP principles.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High standards of personal integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the plastic card, EMV, or secure card manufacturing industry.

The pay range for this position is $125,000-$145,000 and is eligible for an annual bonus.
