HVAC PRODUCTION- OPERATIONS MANAGER (Wilmington) - NEW CONSTRUCTION
The Operations Manager in the HVAC Contractor industry is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s operations in the New Construction segment of the business. This includes coordinating and scheduling projects, managing resources and budgets, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high-quality standards. The Operations Manager also plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of the HVAC industry.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Manages, develops and oversees the day- to-day operations for the New Constuction Division by supporting the New Construction Manager on a daily basis.
Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Reviews all sold projects to plan the implementation of ensuring plans are solidified, material is ordered for all jobs, material is allocated, and jobs are pulled in accordance with specs of the job. All labor is planned and communicated, and the New Construction team is updated on the project daily.
Handle budgeting, procurement of materials, and inventory management.
Effective communication should take place daily with the Builder/Customer, New Construction Manager, New Construction dispatcher and team, and field personnel to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation.
Streamline projects to ensure completion on a timely basis, cost basis and quality basis.
Coordinate project schedules and ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.
Monitor technician scheduling, evaluate workloads, and adapt work priorities to increase efficiency.
Must be proactive with all the above and avoid reactive situations.
Assist in the growth and development of the business.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
To excel in the role of Operations Manager in the HVAC Contractor industry, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and/or should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the HVAC industry. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation processes is essential. Candidates should also have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in project management software and a solid understanding of safety regulations are also required.
