POSITION SUMMARY

Team Leaders are the first level of leadership. Team Leaders are empowered and expected to provide the service, tools, technical knowledge and training needed to engage and empower our team culture. Each Team Leader should strive for a safe work environment, high product quality, high productivity and emphasis on continuous improvement. Team Leaders are expected to inspire and lead their teams by setting an example. The Team Leader is responsible for supporting daily production operations, ensuring product quality, maintaining proper documentation, and guiding operators to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role acts as a key communication link between operators, quality, process, maintenance, materials and management while ensuring that all shift activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensures that team members are adhering to safety policies and practices, and thoroughly and timely resolves safety issues.

· Ensures that team members are aware of each operation’s quality and quantity requirements, including deviations and quality alerts.

· Proactively participates in root cause analysis of quality problems within the team and with other department team members.

· Ensures that team members are following standardized work processes and that each work cell has the proper parts, tools, supplies and manpower.

· Ensures that team members are achieving daily shift production goals; and actively participates in resolving issues that prevent the team from achieving the required goal.

· Addresses team members’ questions, issues, and concerns promptly; and follows through to resolution with supervision.

· Provides training to team members and assists in maintaining up-to-date training matrices for all team members.

· Supports company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner.

· Provides work assignments and directs the work of the team to promote quality and production goals.

· Documents Production and scrap quantities.

· Assists supervision with metric documentation and generation.

· Fills in and/or assists line operators or floor supports as needed.

· Visually Inspect, trim, assemble and package parts.

· Keep track of hourly production and scrap.

· Correct application of all internal and external labels when required, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging.

EDUCATION/Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a leadership position outside of Mayco or has demonstrated leadership qualities while working at Mayco.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Good written and verbal communication skills. Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments. Excellent problem solving and leadership skills. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Detailed oriented and excellent documentation skills. Ability to work independently under general supervision.

This position requires that the employee be able to move and transport plastic parts that generally do not exceed 10 pounds. This position also includes frequent and prolonged periods of standing/walking, pushing /pulling or moving/lifting supplies. This position experiences frequent/occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motion and gripping. Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position.
