This position reports to:
IPU Manager
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently.
The work model for the role is Onsite.
This role is contributing to the Smart Power division in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Coordinates daily production, achieving desired levels of efficiency and meeting production schedule.
    Develop and implement process controls.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to the manufacturing process in line with cost, safety and timing requirements.
  • Responsible for KanBan maintenance/replenishment.
  • Coordinate and perform Kronos system daily changes for payroll accuracy purposes.
  • Perform administrative duties in a timely fashion, including timecards, vacation planning, absenteeism program, disciplinary actions, HSE trainings, etc.
  • Assure production quality, with emphasis on the product and the process, Lean Mfg. Six Sigma, Quality Wins and other business strategies.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanic Engineering.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Basic SAP knowledge for strategic analysis.
  • Project management experience and strong quantitative & analytical skills.
  • A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification, desirable.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US and EU.
