Role Summary:

The Production Manager will oversee the company’s production processes to ensure they stay within budget and enhance efficiencies. They are responsible for consistently finding ways to improve an organization’s production processes and structures. The Production Manager will consistently review employees and their equipment items to determine where to make enhancements. They will work closely with team members to build strategies to maximize their performances. The Production Manager will also collaborate with other departments and team members to set goals for the production team. They are in charge of scheduling routine maintenance to keep the equipment running effectively and maintaining quality standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Business process owner responsible for all production activities. Responsible for managing production activities and achieving production targets in quality, productivity, efficiency, capacity, safety, cost control, staff development, and customer service. Process owner for corporate safety program.
  • Must have strong technical abilities and knowledge to evaluate and improve the operations of various machinery and tools. Impressive leadership skills are also essential for the ideal candidate to have, as they must motivate and guide their team to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Must have exceptional time-management and organizational qualities to ensure all responsibilities are completed on time. Many problems can occur in a manufacturing warehouse, so the Production Manager should have effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills to brainstorm quick and logical solutions.
  • Provides strategic direction for the manufacturing activities of the company. Leads and champions continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, quality, cost reduction, and safety.
  • Responsible for achieving short and long-term operational efficiency goals. Utilizes innovative and creative problem solving skills to address complex and/or challenging issues. Review and manage production headcount and capacity needs for labor cost control and efficiency. Develop and lead weekly production schedule and plan. Coach and mentor leads and hourly production staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, respect, consistency, two-way communication, and teamwork. Develop annual operating plan and capital requirements.


Minimum Qualifications – (Experience, Skills, and Education)

    • BA/ BS Degree and 5 years’ experience in a leader role for a manufacturing operation, or 10 years’ experience required
    • Experience with Wet Bench Manufacturing a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Proven record in training employees about safety and production
    • Strong working knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
    • Ability to coach and motivate employees
    • Ability to balance people management with the technical and business aspects of the role
    • Understanding of manufacturing, quality, warehouse, and inventory practices
    • Working knowledge in Lean Manufacturing principles
    • Technical skills and understanding of hydraulics and electrical in industrial equipment
    • Ability to evaluate and analyze financial issues; prepare documentation to support and quantify proposals and decisions
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Proficient in the use of ERP system


Other Requirements:

Manufacturing floor environment including work at a computer terminal. Work involves extended periods of stationary work, frequent movement throughout the production floor and moving up to 50 pounds.
