Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 / year, Depending on Experience
Job Type: Direct Hire (Permanent from Day 1)
Experience: Minimum 5 years of Production Management experience is required.
Our client is a growing machine manufacturing company looking for a skilled and motivated Production Manager to ensure the department’s manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. To accomplish this, they will be working closely with all members of the team, including cross-functional departments, internally and externally.
Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Establish build schedule for the production departments:
    • Works with Plant Manager to establish daily/weekly production goals.
    • Monitors incoming customer orders, approves orders, work orders, and creates all necessary production paperwork as necessary.
    • Issues materials to work orders as consumed, closes all paperwork when units are ready for shipment.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all daily aspects of the production departments:
    • Establish headcount needs to support departmental goals.
    • Develop, document, and ensure all personnel in the department are trained in the best manner to complete each work task. Ensure personnel are cross-trained as needed to support department goals.
    • Ensure all production builds meet established quality standards. Ensure documentation of quality reviews is retained with each order.
    • Review all necessary supplies to support the production build schedule are on hand as needed, including tooling, packaging, and inventory items. Works with Stockroom personnel and company Buyers to ensure materials and items are on hand.
  • Ensure all work activities are conducted in a safe manner within the department:
    • Establish, communicate, and monitor safe work practices for department activity.
    • Review daily safety topics in department huddle and review all published incidents/accidents with the team.
    • Report unsafe actions timely, take corrective steps to address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Works with Shipping Manager to coordinate outbound and inbound shipments (internal from location to location, and external to customers).
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement in department performance as relates to productivity, quality, and contribution to organizational profitability.
  • Evaluate the performance of all department and support personnel, provide coaching/feedback to individuals to further their contributions to the organization:
    • Daily as needed.
    • Provide 90-day review of new hires.
    • Provide annual reviews to all as scheduled.
    • Follow all organizational guidelines for any disciplinary actions required.
  • Act as a resource to identify and remove all roadblocks and obstacles that hinder department performance, using all available tools and resources. Strive to establish a department of excellence.
  • Complete any and all other duties as assigned.

Production Manager Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of production management or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and determine effective solutions.
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and tracking and trending organizational metrics.
  • Ability to identify cost savings strategies and implement promptly and effectively.
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required.
  • Requires solid written and verbal English-language communication skills.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-Verify.
