Overview:
As the Production Manager you will oversee all welding operations on day shift. This role is responsible for managing workflow, supervising welding personnel, coordinating with crossfunctional teams, and maintaining safety and quality. You will also manage new hire training and certifications for all welders. This position requires strong technical knowledge of welding processes, materials, and equipment, as well as leadership skills to coach and develop team members.

What you will do:

  • Ensures that all established company safety policies are being followed and take corrective action on any safety issues brought up by employees
  • Ensures employees are accurately completing all quality assurances tasks associated with equipment built in the work center(s).
  • Ensure that employees are following work directions and SOEs in all work that these items exist for
  • Directly manages employees in the work center(s) and deals with all aspects of employee development including but not limited to annual performance reviews, promotion matrix reviews, enforcement of company policies and disciplinary action.
  • Reviews employee productivity against pitch marks and takes corrective action as required.
  • Collaborate with other areas in the company to schedule training required to develop employee skillsets and ensure efficiency in task completion. ย This may include updating and maintaining training matrices. ย 
  • Assigns personnel to work station daily based on the priorities set by the work center report
  • Collaborates with other Production Supervisors to flex labor to bottleneck areas
  • Provides input to Senior Production Manager on staffing levels and overtime schedule recommendations
  • Works with Production Control and Scheduling to adjust work center schedules as needed to maintain schedule integrity
  • Collaborate directly with Production Control about part shortages that effect the production schedule which may include developing/executing ways to work around part shortages
  • Consistently closes production order operations for assigned work center(s), correctly transacts parts and requests stockroom to kit production orders at the appropriate time
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and continually improve documentation (work instructions, SOEs, etc.) ย 
  • Identify and correct documentation issues with drawings, work instructions, etc.ย 
  • Consistently drive the continuous improvement culture including presenting new ideas, facilitating and/or leading continuous improvement projects


What you will have:

  • High School diploma with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceย 
  • NDT certified to inspect welding.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are basic requirements of this position. ย 
  • Proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel. ย ย
