Plant Manager – Heavy Fabrication & Machining
Wauseon, OH
Swanton Welding & Machining Company

Overview
Swanton Welding & Machining is seeking a proven Plant Manager to lead our Wauseon, OH facility, which includes both Heavy Fabrication and Machining operations.

This role owns total plant performance across a multi-process environment — including welding, large structural fabrication, and machining — and is responsible for delivering results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction.


What You’ll Own

  • Full plant performance across:
    • Heavy fabrication (structural, out-of-position welding)
    • Machining operations
  • Safety, On-Time Delivery, Quality, Labor Efficiency, and Cost Control
  • Execution through the Production Manager and leadership team
  • Weekly output aligned to company revenue goals


Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-discipline operation (fab + machining)
  • Develop Production Manager, supervisors, and department leads
  • Establish clear accountability across fabrication and machining workflows
  • Drive daily and weekly operating cadence to ensure execution


Operational & Business Impact

  • Balance and coordinate workflow between fabrication and machining
  • Optimize labor utilization across multiple production processes
  • Reduce rework, improve throughput, and eliminate bottlenecks
  • Align plant output with company revenue targets


What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in manufacturing (fabrication and/or machining environment strongly preferred)
  • 3+ years in leadership (Production Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager)
  • Experience managing multi-process operations (fab + machining highly preferred)
  • Strong operational decision-making and leadership skills
  • Ability to drive accountability and results across teams
