JOB TITLE: INJECTION MOLDING MANAGER             

REPORTS TO: VP OF OPERATIONS                    DIRECT REPORTS: YES


POSITION SUMMARY

This position’s responsibility is to provide technical support to ensure production goals of the organization are met. Provides leadership related to Injection Molding resources (staff and equipment) to sustain daily operations of the Department. May suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications or calibration changes that could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

Operations & Production
•    Manage daily operations of the Injection Molding Department.
•    Troubleshoot molding processes to optimize parameters.
•    Ensure cycle times, yield, quality, and deliverables meet cost-reduction goals.
•    Collaborate with Scheduling and Customer Service to meet commitment dates.
•    Support production KPIs and explore automation opportunities.
•    Demonstrated Time Management and Prioritization strengths easily dovetail with Organization/Planning relevant to departmental needs

Team Leadership
•    Oversee Leads, Operators, and Molders across all shifts.
•    Train and develop team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
•    Recommend staffing levels to meet workload demands.
•    Conduct performance reviews and assist VP of Operations with hiring, termination, and discipline.
•    Leadership and Team Building that upholds the DEMGY Pacific’s Values and is focused on optimizing New Product Introduction

Budget & Strategy
•    Monitor department budget, spending, and overtime.
•    Research and recommend workspace, equipment, and technology upgrades.

Collaboration
•    Act as an equal partner with CNC, Assembly, and Shipping Departments.
•    Ensure startup meetings and KPI reviews are conducted.
•    Effective Communication: ability to collaborate and cooperate orally and in writing with a variety of team members in a complex environment. This should include adaptable and flexible approaches to conflict resolution and negotiations
•    Decision-Making and Problem-Solving stem from Strong Emotional Intelligence (self-awareness and -regulation, intrinsic motivation, empathy, informed decision-making, and effective delegation). Emotional Quotient will help drive effective employee evaluation, formal assessments, potential coaching, and mentorship.

JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS

•    Advanced Project Management Techniques: Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management
•    Product Lifecycle Management: Understanding of the entire product lifecycle from concept to production and beyond
•    Proficient knowledge and use of MRP and ERP systems in relation to plastic injection molding and tooling
•    Understanding of AS9100 industry standards for tooling, supply chain, raw material options, product design, management of technical staff
•    Advanced knowledge of aerospace injection molding 
•    Tool Design Experience
•    Kaizen/Lean Management Techniques

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 

•    7 to 10 years of experience in advanced Injection Molding, Setup, or Process Engineering, required
•    Master Molder Status, preferred
•    High School diploma or equivalent
