Job description

Position: Production Manager (HBG FSF Site Focus)

Location: Harrisonburg, VA

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Overview

The Production Manager directs receipt file storage, maintenance, destruction scheduling, and warehouse operations at the above-ground Harrisonburg File Storage Facility (HBG FSF). This role is responsible for managing in excess of 16 million immigration files from receipt through scheduled destruction, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, safety, and full compliance with USCIS standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead production scheduling, workforce management, palletizing/banding, and destruction protocols for high-volume file operations.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, OSHA/safety compliance, and audit readiness at all times.
  • Coordinate closely with NRC leadership and flex staffing levels to accommodate volume fluctuations.
  • Maintain proper security and handling procedures for files, including empty jackets and sensitive materials (PII/SPII).
  • Provide 24x7 emergency availability and actively support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver cost-effective, efficient operations that directly support USCIS records program goals.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in warehouse or production management, preferably in federal records or high-volume storage environments.
  • Hands-on experience with file destruction protocols, warehousing equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, banding tools, etc.), and inventory control systems.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance (limited cleared personnel required on site).
  • Proven ability to successfully manage above-ground warehouse facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in federal administrative or records support services (USCIS or NARA experience is a plus).
