Job description

Join our team as a Manufacturing Production Line Operator, where you will play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. Youโ€™ll work hands-on with equipment, support production goals, and help deliver high-quality products of popular brands African Pride, Just for Me, and many more!



PURPOSE: The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production by applying knowledge and skills to lead and operate production lines.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Monitor line performance including speed, fill volume, proper sealing, cap torques or other standards.
  • Feed material or parts to machines
  • Make minor adjustments that are needed to keep the machines operating properly and
  • efficiently.
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Document on computer and/or forms production data including items produced, line speeds scrap and other required data.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications
  • Oversee operations of assigned line including usage of correct materials, correct fill levels, marking and packaging
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Track materials used, produced and returned to stock.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation on equipment to meet company S.O.P.
  • Ensure bulk holding tanks are emptied to maximize yield before ending line production.
  • Communicate with supervisors when a problem occurs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Prior experience of operating equipment preferred.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to understand oral or written instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform simple calculations.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet company goals.
  • Communication skills to work effectively with other team members.


Physical Capabilities:

  • Prolonged periods of 8-12 hours, working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
