Job description

Job Summary:
Molex is a leading supplier of connectors and interconnect components, and they are seeking an Associate Product Line Manager to join their Optical Connectivity team. In this role, you will drive profitable growth in the data center market by collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage product requirements, development, and successful deployments.
Responsibilities:
• Market & Technology Research – Monitor hyperscale and cloud data center trends, optical networking standards, and competitor offerings to shape our product roadmap and direction.
• Requirements Definition – Collaborate with customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to capture detailed product requirements for fiber optic interconnects, ancillary products, and cabling systems.
• Roadmap Execution – Assist in managing the product lifecycle from concept through launch, including prototype evaluation, testing, and production readiness.
• Pricing Strategy – Work alongside Product Manager to define and create strategic pricing strategies. Will be responsible for ensuring pricing is maintained in the system.
• Technical Documentation – Prepare and maintain product specifications, application notes, and competitive comparison materials.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Coordinate with engineering, operations, and program management teams to ensure timely product delivery and quality.
• Customer Engagement – Support technical discussions with hyperscale customers, addressing application requirements and integration considerations.
• Performance Tracking – Analyze product performance data and field feedback to identify improvements or next-generation features.
• Product Marketing – Develop an actionable strategy for creating promotional content focused on product developments to ensure customer awareness.
• Product Training – Collaborate with Molex Sales & Marketing to deliver product overview trainings to global sales, end customers, and distribution partners.
• Travel – Travel as needed to meet with customers to gain a better understanding of technical challenges and collaboratively work towards a solution set which exceeds customers expectations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience contributing to product and lifecycle management activities, such as NPI tracking, specification documentation, and product readiness support
• Experience supporting business and financial activities, including forecasting inputs, pricing data, and financial reporting
• Experience coordinating across cross‑functional teams (engineering, sales, operations, manufacturing) to gather inputs, track assigned actions, and support execution
• Market and technical acumen, with experience supporting competitive analysis, market research, and data gathering to inform product decisions
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate within the team and with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated curiosity and desire to build product, industry, and market knowledge while growing toward increased scope and ownership
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10-20% of the time in support of customers, product activities, and cross‑functional collaboration
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related discipline
Preferred:
• Understanding of fiber optic applications and products
• Experience in a B2B environment
• Experience developing technical marketing collateral
• Familiarity with data center architectures and networking technologies
