About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Paint Line Coordinator to join our 2nd Shift manufacturing team. Working under general supervision, this position supports the automatic conveyor paint line by coordinating the flow of finished parts, inspecting painted components, accurately counting product, packaging and labeling parts, and ensuring customer-specific requirements are met before product moves to the next operation or is released for shipment.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position where quality, accuracy, and organization are critical. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, can maintain focus in a fast-paced production environment, and understands the importance of identifying defects and resolving quantity discrepancies before products reach the customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove parts from the automatic paint line and perform detailed visual inspections for defects, including:
    • Light or heavy paint coverage
    • Missed areas
    • Runs or drips
    • Scratches and dents
    • Contamination or blemishes
    • Other surface or finish imperfections
  • Compare finished parts against job orders, drawings, approved samples, quality standards, and customer specifications.
  • Identify, separate, and report defective or questionable parts.
  • Maintain consistent inspection practices throughout the shift to prevent nonconforming product from moving forward.
  • Accurately count parts as they are removed from the line, packaged, staged, or transferred.
  • Verify part quantities against job orders, ERP records, labels, packaging instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Confirm parts-per-container, parts-per-skid, total quantities, skid weights, and other specified requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve quantity discrepancies before completing paperwork or releasing product.
  • Package, label, and stage completed parts according to customer and company requirements.
  • Complete production, inspection, counting, and packaging documentation accurately.
  • Use the ERP system to retrieve job information, record completed quantities, and print required labels and documentation.
  • Help coordinate the movement and flow of product through the paint-line area to maintain efficient production.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Communicate quality concerns, missing parts, count discrepancies, packaging issues, and production concerns promptly to supervisors and appropriate team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company policies, quality standards, work instructions, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Support a positive and productive 2nd Shift work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–3 months of related manufacturing, production, inspection, packaging, material-handling, or coordination experience preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration during repetitive inspection and counting tasks.
  • Ability to identify visible paint, finish, and surface defects.
  • Ability to accurately count parts and verify quantities.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read and understand basic work instructions, job orders, safety information, and customer requirements.
  • Ability to learn and use an ERP system and basic production technology.
  • Ability to follow standardized inspection, packaging, and documentation procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to report quality or quantity concerns.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment after completing required training or certification.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities during 2nd Shift.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently walk throughout the work area.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, inspecting, counting, packaging, and moving parts.
  • Ability to occasionally sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, speak, and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to visually inspect parts for extended periods and identify differences in paint coverage, finish, color, and surface condition.
  • Requires close vision, color recognition, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment, varying temperatures, paint-line processes, and elevated noise levels.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
