Materials Coordinator/Inventory Specialist
Findlay, OH (Local/Onsite)
This is a Contract position, W2
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed)
Pay Rate: $22/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a safety-focused and dependable Materials Coordinator to support inventory management, warehouse operations, and material handling activities within a utility construction environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and issuing materials, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring efficient warehouse and laydown yard operations.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Material Management


  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials for accuracy, condition, and quantity.
  • Issue materials under proper authorization and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Process material receipts, returns, transfers, and adjustments within inventory management systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assist in maintaining proper stock levels and warehouse organization.
  • Track and document inventory discrepancies, damages, and shortages.

Warehouse & Logistics Operations


  • Prepare, package, and stage materials for shipment, delivery, or storage.
  • Complete shipping documentation and related records.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and relocating materials.
  • Support logistics operations related to inventory movement and storage.
  • Maintain organized storage locations, bins, racks, and laydown yard areas.

Equipment Operation


  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including:

    • Forklifts
    • Telehandlers (JLG, Magni, Merlo)
    • Low-lift trucks
    • Hoists
    • Overhead cranes
    • Hand trucks and other warehouse equipment

  • Handle oversized, heavy, and irregularly shaped materials safely and efficiently.

Administrative & System Support


  • Utilize inventory management systems, computer terminals, scanners, and printers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, receiving, and warehouse documentation.
  • Report inventory irregularities, safety concerns, and operational issues.
  • Support supervisors with warehouse optimization and material tracking initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education


  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience


  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in:

    • Inventory control
    • Warehouse operations
    • Material handling
    • Logistics or supply chain support


Technical Skills


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with inventory management software (Maximo experience preferred).
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
