Job Purpose

Develop strategies and standards to drive improvement activities toward achievement of benchmark manufacturing characteristics for continued profitability and smooth BEV introduction.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and lead strategy development, standard setting, and characteristic improvement activity at assigned factory department and across the region (multiple plants).
  • Lead requested studies for local department and across the region related to project evaluations (through E-plan), new model/capacity/allocation requests, and BP themes.
  • Characteristics Analysis – Data collection, benchmarking, best practice sharing.
  • Analyze and act on Production Engineering Work Orders (PEWO) through the development of the engineering concept sheet (ECS), payback calculations, and environmental documents.
  • Provide “voice of the floor” input to local, regional, and global new model and project teams 
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering work experience (preference towards experience in Paint manufacturing category).

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with Honda Business Planning Process
  • Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively both with customers and internal project teams
  • Business acumen in a technical environment
  • Demonstrated category specific expertise
Working Conditions
 
  • Flexible Work Hours
  • Flexible Work Schedule
  • Estimate 5-10 Business trips per year may be required to support regional initiatives and improve overall efforts to improve standardization across the region. This activity may require short-term assignments at other Honda sites for 1-to-2-week periods.
  • 5-15 hours of OT per week    
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required.
