Overview
Come join our Product Design team where you will create and validate designs for our real-time GIS charting and mapping tool ArcGIS Dashboards. In this role you will collaborate closely with product development team members on a product that offers powerful data visualization capabilities used across multiple industries.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify requirements and specifications for the development of new and established features
  • Create prototypes and high-fidelity user interface designs that demonstrate new designs to developers and product managers
  • Partner closely with engineers throughout the development cycle to ensure feasibility, iterate on designs, and deliver high-quality implementations
  • Design aesthetically pleasing, usable, and accessible UI designs that conform to Esri's design system
  • Drive the adoption of Esri's design system and patterns to drive platform consistency, collaborating with designers and developers in pairs and larger groups
  • Act as a liaison between design and engineering teams, ensuring UX vision is preserved through technical execution
  • Validate design work leveraging basic usability testing approaches and other user-facing research that elevate and evolve our team's research capabilities
  • Stay up to speed on latest mobile, web, and responsive design patterns and technologies

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with product design for enterprise SaaS, web-based applications, or similar experience
  • Experience using Figma, Figma UI Kits, adhering to established pattern libraries and required frameworks
  • Comfortable discussing technical constraints and trade-offs with engineering teams
  • Enthusiastic about working in depth at the feature level of the Dashboards application; willing to explore multiple approaches to a single solution
  • Interest in data visualization and representation along with willingness to learn about design aesthetics specific to dashboards will be greatly appreciated
  • Knowledge of or experience in localization (L10N) or internationalization (I18N)
  • Expertise in accessibility (WCAG 2.0/Section 508 Compliance) and a strong track record of collaborating with developers to address and resolve accessibility-related challenges
  • Demonstrated self-ownership and initiative in exceeding responsibilities to drive impactful outcomes for the product and team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Embrace a collaborative, data-driven approach with empathy, fostering effective teamwork through a focus on shared goals and mutual respect
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
  • Bachelor's degree in human factors, HCI, graphic design, or related field
