Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Control Assistant to join our team. The Production Expeditor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of production activities. This individual will be responsible for supporting the production control team in scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating production processes to meet quality standards and deadlines.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Coordination: Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Order Processing: Process production orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely execution of tasks.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, and coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure availability and prevent stock outs.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks or issues, and communicate with relevant departments to resolve them promptly.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate production records and databases, including production reports, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
  • Communication: Liaise with production supervisors, planners, procurement, and other relevant departments to coordinate production activities effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in ensuring that products meet quality standards by conducting quality checks and following up on corrective actions when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for process improvement and participate in the implementation of solutions to enhance production efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in a production control or scheduling role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with production scheduling software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is desirable.
