JOB SUMMARY

The essential role of the Control Panel Technician is to complete the construction, assembly and wiring of components for industrial control panels for a wide variety of industries designed and manufactured by Apex. The Control Panel Technician will take responsibility for the assembly, testing, and wiring of components for industrial control panels, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that all components and assemblies built are to Company quality standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret General Arrangement Drawings (GA) and Electrical Diagrams

  • Install electrical components (i.e., PLCs, HMIs, Overcurrent Protection, etc.) per design

  • Assemble electrical control enclosures per design

  • Wire 24/120/208/230/460 circuits

  • Terminate wiring at point of use and within control enclosures

  • Conduct I/O, loop checks and other quality functions to ensure a quality product

  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment is maintained by maintaining 5S standards

  • Train and assist others as required

  • Willing to cross-train as required and work hours necessary to support Company demand

  • Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines

  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two (2) years of experience in electrical or related field or completion of Associate?s degree/trade school program in electrical or related field

  • Strong electrical aptitude

  • Knowledge of UL and NEC

  • Exceptional work ethic, ?can-do? attitude and team player

  • Flexible and adaptable by nature; able to work well under pressure and within changing environments

  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with customers, vendors, and team members

  • Able to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision and effectively plan, organize and execute own activities

  • Able to be a proficient problem-solver and take the initiative to troubleshoot and try to figure things out independently

  • Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment necessary for duties performed

  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2)+ years of control panel assembly experience

  • Past experience with custom industrial equipment

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The anticipated pay range for this role is between $27-$31/hr, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.
