Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Plant Manager for our locations in Fenton/Burton, Michigan. This position provides strategic and operational leadership to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize production across plant operations. Oversees production control, maintenance, cost accounting, logistics, distribution, and manufacturing while ensuring safe, compliant, high-performing operations. Drives continuous improvement, cross-functional alignment, leadership development, and successful change across the plant. Manages budgets and reports, ensures production, quality, and service goals are met, and leads, evaluates, and develops supervisors and plant employees.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Serve as a strong business partner and change agent by continuously identifying and drive improvement opportunities as the business grows.
  • Provide broad leadership across plant operations by aligning supervisors and cross-functional teams to business priorities, operational goals, and performance expectations.
  • KPI Development/health of the organization/Gemba Walks implementation.
  • Lead change management initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement, ensuring adoption of new processes, systems, and standards across the plant.
  • Develop supervisors and frontline leaders through coaching, accountability, and performance management to build a culture of ownership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
  • Lead plant execution against budget, labor, and delivery commitments by aligning production priorities, resource plans, and performance expectations with business objectives.
  • Drive workflow optimization and operational discipline to improve schedule attainment, equipment performance, product quality, and overall plant efficiency.
  • Establish and/or adjust workflow to meet production schedules. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Champion a safe, compliant, and high-accountability operating environment by reinforcing standards, promoting hazard awareness, and ensuring consistent execution of plant procedures.
  • Establish reporting rigor and performance visibility through accurate work orders, utilization reporting, and production metrics that support informed decision-making.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Project Management, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to resolve issues, improve execution, and support plant-wide business results.

What Requirements Are Needed
Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business or industrial management. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience: Prefer 5 to ten (5-10) years of practical assembly, steel components, or HVAC experience at a small to medium size Manufacturing amp; Fabrication business with five (5) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role for a fabrication, welding, or HVAC related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, influence across functions, and successfully implement process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with KPI Development.
  • Proven leadership presence with the ability to set direction, drive accountability, and develop supervisors and teams in support of plant-wide business objectives.
  • Working knowledge of plant safety and compliance requirements, including training, coordination, and oversight of safety-related practices and personnel.
  • Ability to prepare clear reports and maintain accurate records related to inspections, reviews, and operational performance.
  • Broad understanding of plant operations, with the ability to coordinate across departments, lead training and meetings, and support execution through changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills to manage high volume in a fast-past environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, ERP platforms, and other systems that support plant operations, reporting, and planning.
