Production Control Specialist

Position Overview

  • Reports to: Materials Planning Coordinator

Role Objective: As a Production Control Specialist, your objective is to ensure timely delivery of all components to support production requirements.

What will your day look like?

  • Forecasting supplier requirements

  • Cycle count validation and feedback

  • Review purchase orders and place order to suppliers

  • Analyze inventory daily

  • Identify potential problem part numbers

  • Track and update QAD, Customer's Systems: On QAD - Min/Max, Period orders, transit times, QPC

  • Maintain supplier performance metrics

  • Communicate problems to the appropriate supplier

  • Follow up with corrective actions/spot buys to ensure no interruptions in production

  • Monitor and maintain bills of material and QAD system

  • Additional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change

Safety Responsibilities

Education & Experience

Education

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Required)

  • Associate's degree and/or 3 years in Materials roles (Preferred)

Experience

  • QAD/ERP experience (Required)

  • Experience in new program coordination & engineering changes preferred (Required)

  • Experience in direct dealings with O.E.M., customers & suppliers (Required)

  • Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying a practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem solving or other applied leadership experience (Required)

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

  • QAD, ERP or similar system; basic troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of freight arrangements, cycle counting procedures & bill of materials
