Job description

Purpose:
The Production Control Manager acts as a liaison with sales to expedite, interpret customer demands and to provide Manufacturing with accurate schedules to ensure department efficiencies and on time delivery to customers. The Production Control Manager is also responsible for managing finished goods inventory to ensure that it meets internal goals and managing the plant capacity plan. This position also provides directives to the production schedulers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Processes customer orders/releases and amendments to meet delivery dates.
  • Manages finished foods and in-process inventory levels to meet internal goals.
  • Ensures scheduling system is up to date with accurate data (rates, yield, capacity) for efficient and level plant loading and manning and purchasing data.
  • Ensures capacity plan is maintained (SG, Holmen and Sparta); at WS this is maintained by Industrial Engineer.
  • Provides Manufacturing with schedules and accurate production documents/shop cards which minimize costs through effective utilization of labor, equipment, materials and capital.
  • Manages customer and internal process changes.
  • Manages Customer Balance Out when jobs or programs are obsolete.
  • Provides reports to affected personnel as needed.
  • Interfaces effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers as needed.
  • Ensures that Company policies and procedures are adhered to.
