What you'll do

The Production Control Expeditor role at Viasat is a position focused on coordinating and expediting the flow of work and material within the manufacturing department, and engineering labs. The position involves working closely with Production Planners to establish schedules, manage material processing, and ensure timely completion of production tasks. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments to track progress and resolve production challenges.


The day-to-day
  • Partner with Operations Program Managers, Production Planning, and Operations teams to support various space, defense, and development programs.
  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end material flow across kitting, assembly, test, inspection, and closeout for next-gen hardware.
  • Engage in daily communication with Production Planning to reevaluate priorites, and mitigate schedule risk across multiple programs.
  • Report on work in process (WIP) status, rework/repair orders, and production obstacles.
  • Audit kits for accuracy and completeness before delivering to manufacturing.
  • Monitor floor stock and kanban signals for material readiness.

What you'll need
  • 2+ years of production control, planning experience, or manufacturing experience.
  • Works collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities
  • Consistent record of personal accountability and driving tasks to completion.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with internal customers from different departments.
  • Ability to follow documented work instructions related to materials management/handling.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and sit, stand, and walk around for long periods of time.
  • US Citizenship required.

  • Experience working with electronic products and ESD sensitive materials.
  • Background in Solumina and Oracle ERP systems.  
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Salary range
$19.23 - $30.29 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $23.8 - $35.82/ hourly
