Job description

Position Summary:
The Production Associate is responsible to ensure the smooth operation of machines and participate in ensuring the utmost quality of product.

Responsible for:

  • Packing a variety of manufactured products (lids and containers) accurately and efficientlyย 
  • Ensuring that close attention is paid to the quality of the products that are coming off the machines - putting aside defective products and communicating to Shift Supervisor
  • Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)

Duties:

  • Check quality of product (lids/containers)every stack top and bottom (flip stack prior to bagging) - look for short shots, warping, black spots, witness marks, long gates, etc.
  • Apply appropriate clear bag to the stack and pack and tape the bag closed
  • Place bagged product into the appropriate bin as indicated by the bin placard
  • Notify supervisor immediately when any quality issues are discovered
  • Count and document the number of plastic sleeves of products that are packed during each shift
  • Ensure that all parts are removed from the machine, table and over top of the conveyor before starting a new order
  • Place new placard onto new bin
  • Ensure any scrap parts are placed into the scrap bin - weigh and record as required
  • Printing boxes
  • Printing labels from Dynamics program
  • Sweep floor and ensure that any spills (oil, water, resin, parts) are cleaned up in a timely manner
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any hazards, incidents or accidents
  • Maintain a clean workstation(s) at all time
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Skills and Education

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must be able to differentiate between colors and their shades
