1st Shift - 5:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday (Overtime as business needs dictate)

Now hiring for a Production Worker in our stitching area that supports the footwear manufacturing process. 3 months minimum of sewing machine / stitching operation is required.  If lacking the minimum experience, if selected, you be hired through our temporary agency and be considered for full time employment based performance thereafter.

As a Production Worker, you will utilize an industrial sewing machine and be responsible for the following: 

Stitching (Sewing Operators)

  • Utilize a variety of industrial single needle, double needle and programmable machines to stitch leather footwear. 
  • Will read, interpret and follow instructions and production tags.
  • Ability to use and understand a ruler and measurements.
  • Every operator is responsible for the quality of their work and is expected to support their departmental team by learning at least two additional operations.

May perform other duties such as Prep, Lasting, Inspection, Finishing (Non-Sewing Operations)

  • Material Preparation.
  • Working with programmable machinery.
  • Performing manual jobs
  • Performing various shoe lasting operations to produce footwear, including inserting leather uppers in to clamping devices attached to machine.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3 months minimum of sewing machine / stitching operation.
  • Positive and flexible attitude and ability to work and be a team player.
  • Able to read, write and speak basic English.
  • Background check, drug screen and pre-employment physicals is required.
  • Must be able to:
    • perform routine tasks.
    • stand or sit stationary for 8 hours.
    • stand/walk unassisted for a full shift for non-sewing operations.
    • reach 12-18 inches at or above shoulder height.
    • perform repetitive tasks using hands, wrists, fingers, arms, shoulders.
    • lift and carry 1-25 pounds unassisted.
    • assist in team lifting of approximately 30 pounds.
    • hear noises clearly with or without hearing support assistance.
    • Vision - see up close fine details, small components and tools while performing sewing and machine operation) with or without vision support assistance. 
    • have good depth perception.
    • strong organization skills and high attention to detail.
    • demonstrate good manual dexterity skills.
    • work inside and around others.
    • wear safety glasses for full shift and/or gloves if required for the task.
    • work at a moderate pace.
    • work proficiently individually and as a team.
    • collaborate and communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully.
