Base Power Company

Austin, TX • On-site

Full-time

Job description

About Base
Base is America's next-generation power company. We're rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization-electricity-by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today's fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the Role
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Production Associates to launch our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be on the front line of building the future of energy, working directly on our production assembly lines to manufacture our cutting-edge battery storage systems.
You will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of products, precisely following work instructions, and ensuring every unit meets our high-quality standards. This is an exciting, hands-on, physically active role that requires reliability, efficiency, and a commitment to safety.
What You'll Do
  • Operate production machinery and equipment safely while ensuring consistent output across all products.
  • Assemble battery systems and sub-assemblies on a manufacturing production line, following detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform visual inspections of parts and finished units to identify defects or inconsistencies, ensuring products meet quality standards before moving to the next stage.
  • Load and unload materials onto the production line and assist with kitting job kits and organizing components to support smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with 5S standards and comply with all safety requirements, including consistent use of required PPE.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes and communicate suggestions to the broader team.
  • Maintain flexibility to change shifts and work overtime as needed to support Base's continued growth.

What You'll Bring
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, construction, or a warehouse environment is preferred; experience using hand and power tools is a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a shift and lift 50-70 lbs, with comfort performing repetitive physical tasks such as stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and crouching in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong sense of reliability and punctuality, with a work ethic that supports keeping the production line moving.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English with precision.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt; success depends on every team member contributing to the line.
  • A desire to grow professionally by learning new technologies and developing new skills at Base Power.

Shift
  • 3:30pm CST - 12am CST

Benefits
  • Pay: $23hr + 10% shift differential
  • Advance your career: enjoy competitive compensation, benefits, and clear opportunities for professional growth.

About the Team
The Production team is on the front line of building Base Power's battery systems, turning raw components into high-quality, deployable products. This team operates at the core of our manufacturing process, ensuring every unit is built safely, efficiently, and to exact standards.
They focus on consistency, quality, and throughput-working together on fast-paced assembly lines while continuously improving processes and workflows. Their work directly impacts production output, product reliability, and our ability to scale.
This is a team for people who take pride in hands-on work, thrive in a structured environment, and want to be part of building something tangible from the ground up.
Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
  • Everyone's an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we're creating. We work in-person. It's not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
Do the best work of your life at Base.
