Description

Position Summary:

The Production Associate is a crucial component to our day-to-day operations in maintaining the level of service that has made us, and continues to make us, so successful. Production Associates should have experience using hand tools, light construction experience is a plus, be a good communicator, detail-oriented, and work well in a team environment. This position is responsible for the building and inspecting of door units according to work order specifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Operates nail gun, sander, drills and other hand tools in an assembly line environment
  • Picks orders and selects correct parts per work order specifications.
  • Transfers doors from racks to tables, and down assembly line for production
  • Checks door number to ensure correct preparation or parts application
  • Glazes glass in frames, and preps door with correct parts and striping
  • Follows proper procedures to ensure that all products continuously meet the required quality standards
  • Repairs minor imperfections
  • Assist with building crates and/or pallets and preparing product for shipment
  • Required to stand on your feet for 8 - 9 hours a day.
  • Required to lift approximately 50-75 lbs. consistently throughout the day.
  • Assists in adhering to 5S and general shop housekeeping policies.
  • Other miscellaneous warehouse labor as directed by management.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Forklift experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to read, understand, and translate work orders/BOMs.
  • Willingness to learn potential skills, production equipment and processes.
  • Dedicated to excellent attendance.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work space
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, and work well with team and other departments
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. frequently.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in production/manufacturing environment required
  • Knowledge of doors, glass, millwork and related building materials is beneficial.
  • General use of power tools is beneficial (brad nailer, framing nailer, miter saw, etc.)
  • Must be ability to use a tape measure and apply basic mathematical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Able to process information and apply best practices.
  • Positive attitude in busy environment
