Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and production of wholesale bakery products.

Follow recipes, production specifications, and established procedures.

Portion, shape, assemble, handle, and package products as assigned.

Operate production and bakery equipment after proper training.

Load and unload bakery racks, trays, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products.

Prepare finished products for packaging, storage, and shipment.

Inspect products for quality and immediately report problems or inconsistencies.

Follow production schedules and help the team meet daily production goals.

Maintain accurate product counts when required.

Keep workstations, equipment, floors, racks, and production areas clean and organized.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, allergen-control, and company procedures.

Follow proper handwashing, uniform, PPE, and personal hygiene requirements.

Properly handle ingredients and finished products to prevent contamination or damage.

Assist with cleaning and sanitation at the end of production or during changeovers.

Work in different wholesale production areas as needed.

Perform other production-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to push and maneuver bakery racks and production equipment.

Ability to work around commercial ovens, proofers, refrigeration equipment, and other bakery machinery.

Ability to work in areas where temperatures may vary from refrigerated/cold environments to warm production areas.

El Bolillo Bakery started out as a small Mexican bakery in the Greater Heights area of Houston. Over time the bakery became popular due to its hundreds of everyday fresh pastries and great customer service. Soon, business out grew the small building the bakery started in and construction started for a bigger bakery across the street. Following the momentum of growing popularity, another location was opened in the South side of Houston off of S. Wayside. It has become part of the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce and has remained active within the Community surrounding it.
