Job description

POSITION: Production Associate 
SHIFT:
Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (OT as required)
PAY RATE:
$20.00 - $25.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit Package
LOCATION:
Minnkota Windows West Fargo, ND

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Associate position is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of windows and patio doors across multiple stages of production. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Vinyl Fabrication
  • Welding
  • Hardware Installation
  • Mulling / Prepping for Assembly
  • Final Assembly
  • Paint Preparation
  • Specialty Production
Production Associates may perform work in one or more of these areas and are responsible for assembling products from raw materials through finished goods while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Engage in team-based lean and continuous improvement activities to improve workflows and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret job documentation, work orders, and shop floor paperwork; perform tasks as assigned.
  • Perform production tasks across assigned areas, including fabrication, welding, assembly, hardware installation, paint prep, or specialty production.
  • Assemble materials to produce subassemblies or finished products from raw materials.
  • Ensure proper labeling of all products and components.
  • Track production output and progress using boards or systems.
  • Inspect products at each workstation to verify they are free of defects and meet quality specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Notify supervisor of mechanical, material, quality, or safety issues.
  • Meet or exceed production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety in all tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, leads, and other departments to meet production requirements.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned.

 EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED required.
Specific Requirements for Level 2
Production Associate 2:
In addition to Level 1 requirements:
  • Perform advanced production tasks, including specialty window and patio door assembly (e.g., bays, bows, 4500 series, specialty shapes).
  • Demonstrate proficiency across multiple production stages (fabrication, welding, assembly, finishing, etc.).
  • Provide guidance and support to Level 1 associates to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in coordinating workflow and production priorities within assigned work area.
  • Identify and troubleshoot production, quality, or process issues.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, quality standards, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support training efforts and help onboard new team members.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Actively contribute ideas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Proven track record of dependable attendance, quality work, and productivity.
