What is a product strategy associate?

Product Strategy Associates are professionals who support the planning, development, and execution of a company’s product strategy. They analyze market trends, gather customer insights, and work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and improve products. Their role helps ensure that products align with business goals and meet customer needs. Product Strategy Associates often contribute to competitive analysis, go-to-market planning, and performance tracking to drive product success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a product strategy associate?

To thrive as a Product Strategy Associate, you need strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a relevant degree such as in business, economics, or a related field. Familiarity with data analytics tools (like Excel, SQL, or Tableau), market research platforms, and sometimes certifications in product management are highly valued. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you work effectively across teams and present strategic recommendations. These competencies are crucial for driving informed product decisions, aligning stakeholders, and achieving business objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by product strategy associates when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

Job Description

The Intelligent Solutions Product Strategy team defines adoption strategy for cutting-edge business transformation technologies across JPMorganChase , spanning three domains: Business Process & Decision Management, Intelligent Automation, and Workflow Automation. We are driving the firm's evolution from rules-based automation to AI-enhanced capabilities that automate complex business processes and decisions. In this role, you'll operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and change management—partnering with executive stakeholders, business transformation leaders, and technology product owners to evaluate emerging capabilities, design adoption frameworks, and accelerate value realization. If you're energized by the opportunity to shape how a global institution harnesses automation and AI to transform its business operations, this is your platform to drive impact.

As an Intelligent Solutions Product Strategy Associate within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO), you will define and drive the enterprise-wide strategy and adoption of business transformation technologies within and across the three domains of Intelligent Automation, Business Process & Decision Management, and Workflow Automation. Your work will span evaluating next-generation AI-enabled capabilities including agentic automation, coordinating proof-of-concept initiatives with internal and external technology partners, define the learning and enablement plan to optimize adoption, and developing executive communications that articulate strategic value and present a cohesive firmwide strategy. This role offers exposure to 10+ platforms (vendor and internally developed), collaboration with senior business leaders across all LOBs and Corporate Functions, and the opportunity to influence how the firm deploys AI-driven solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of business transformation technologies spanning process insights (mining, modeling), intelligent automation (robotics, document processing, data transformation, data visualization / business intelligence), and workflow orchestration, and their applications to financial services operations, controls, and customer experience

Design and execute strategic initiatives to accelerate adoption of business transformation technologies across multiple business lines, including proof-of-concept evaluations of emerging AI capabilities such as agentic automation and AI-enhanced development tools

Produce executive-level communications including strategic presentations, product updates, and thought leadership content that articulate business value and drive senior stakeholder engagement

Coordinate cross-functional alignment with internal technology product teams and external vendors to evaluate platform roadmaps, influence feature prioritization, and integrate new capabilities into the firm's technology stack

Lead firmwide learning and enablement programs including executive conferences, practitioner forums, certification pathways, and hands-on training to build organizational capability across business transformation technologies and AI

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

3+ years of experience with a top-tier management consulting firm (MBB or Big 4), financial services transformation, or technology-enabled change management with demonstrated ability to drive large-scale adoption programs

Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information, identify high-impact opportunities, and design scalable solutions across diverse stakeholder groups

Exceptional project and program management capabilities including experience coordinating multi-workstream initiatives, managing executive stakeholder relationships, and driving outcomes in matrixed organizations

Advanced analytical skills to be able to gather, model, and analyze data to test hypotheses, identifying trends and key insights

Executive-level written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to craft compelling narratives, produce high-quality presentations, and engage C-suite audiences on technology strategy

Intellectual curiosity and technical acuity with ability to rapidly learn emerging technologies (AI, automation, low-code platforms) and translate technical concepts into business value propositions

Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate in ambiguity, design new frameworks and processes, and drive innovation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Experience with business transformation platforms (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath, MSFT PowerPlatform , Pega, Signavio , Databricks, ThoughtSpot) or AI/ML technologies in an enterprise context

Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, business process management) or governance frameworks (risk, controls, compliance)

Familiarity with AI concepts including generative AI, agentic systems, intelligent document processing, or natural language processing

Financial services background is preferred, but not mandatory
