Job description

The New Product Introduction Specialist supports the successful commercialization of new products by managing product setup activities within SAP and related business systems. The role serves as a key liaison among Product Management, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure product data, approvals, and workflows are completed accurately and on schedule. The incumbent exercises independent judgment to resolve data and process issues, facilitate cross-functional alignment, and support commercialization readiness.
Key Activities:
New Product Setup & Commercialization Support (40%)
  • Coordinate and facilitate setup of new materials, products, packaging components, and related master data within SAP and associated systems.
  • Evaluate product setup requests for completeness, consistency, and compliance with established business requirements.
  • Review Bills of Material and related product information and recommend corrections or modifications when inconsistencies are identified.
  • Make decisions within established guidelines regarding data requirements, workflow routing, and approval paths necessary to support commercialization activities.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Support (25%)
  • Serve as the primary regional contact for NPI setup activities and associated workflows.
  • Partner with Product Management, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Customer Service to facilitate timely product launches.
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority to obtain required information, approvals, and issue resolution.
  • Escalate significant business risks or launch readiness concerns while independently resolving routine operational issues.

Process Improvement & NPI Excellence (20%)
  • Identify opportunities to improve NPI workflows, product setup processes, and data quality.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements that reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain process documentation and support training of stakeholders on NPI requirements and procedures.
  • Participate in projects involving ERP, workflow, and commercialization process enhancements.

Regional Ambassador & Compliance Support (15%)
  • Act as a regional ambassador for NPI processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Promote consistency in product setup activities across business functions and manufacturing locations.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding NPI requirements, workflow expectations, and master data standards.
  • Monitor compliance with corporate procedures and support adoption of process improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Process driven, analytical, organized, detail oriented, drive for success and accountability/commitment
  • Ability to influence, implement change, and lead without direct authority
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, experience with SAP a plus
  • Excellent computer and presentation skills; MS Office/SharePoint
