Job description

The International Commercialization Technologist supports the development, commercialization, and launch of new and improved products for international markets. This role serves as a critical link between Culinary (Product Development), Commercialization, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure products are successfully scaled, documented, registered, produced, and delivered in compliance with brand and market requirements. Responsibilities include formulation and specification management, commercialization documentation, product evaluation, supplier coordination, regulatory support, sample management, and data administration.

This position sits within our Atlanta based Global Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 4 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support international commercialization projects from product concept through manufacturing and market launch.
  • Translate R&D formulations and product concepts into manufacturing-ready specifications and processes.
  • Manage product, ingredient, packaging, and supplier information within product information management and specification systems. This will include Quality Information Report (QIR) during commercialization phase (production run 1-3).
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, ingredient specifications, labeling documentation, and commercialization records from draft to final revisions.
  • Coordinate product sample procurement, preparation, shipment, and evaluation activities.
  • Lead or facilitate product reviews and production sample evaluations with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with quality, sensory, regulatory, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, regulatory, quality, logistics, and supply chain teams to support product registration, export readiness, and market compliance.
  • Support nutritional, allergen, ingredient statement, labeling, and certification requirements for international markets.
  • Collect, analyze, and report commercialization data to support business, quality, and supply chain objectives.
  • Own the process of writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOP), and ways of working to ensure current practices.
  • Assist with commercialization activities at manufacturing facilities, including production trials, scale-up activities, validation, and specification compliance reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other commercialization activities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-Year degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in food manufacturing, product development, commercialization, quality assurance, food safety, regulatory affairs, or a related food industry role.
  • Experience working with product specifications, supplier management, technical documentation, or product information systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting commercialization, manufacturing scale-up, or product launch activities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality systems, food safety principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food labeling, allergens, nutrition regulations, and specification management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with product information management, specification, nutrition, or ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
