What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Product Rendering position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Product Rendering, you need a strong background in 3D modeling, computer graphics, and design, often supported by a degree in graphic design, industrial design, or a related field. Proficiency with rendering software such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Blender, KeyShot, or Adobe Creative Suite is essential, and certification in these tools may be advantageous. Attention to detail, creativity, time management, and effective communication with cross-functional teams are important soft skills. These abilities are crucial for producing visually compelling, accurate representations of products that meet client and marketing needs within tight deadlines.

Job Title: Rendering Artist / Visualization Specialist
Department: Athletic Sales Reports To: Director of Athletic Sales
Position Summary
The Rendering Artist / Visualization Specialist is responsible for creating high-quality, photorealistic visualizations and sales-support graphics for athletic products. This role bridges the gap between engineering, sales, and estimating by transforming customer concepts and engineered models into compelling, accurate, and producible visual materials. In addition to renderings, this role supports the creation of one-pagers, specification sheets, and presentation graphics used in customer-facing and internal materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Create photorealistic renderings using KeyShot (or comparable rendering software) from:
o Engineer-supplied CAD models
o Existing product models from the internal database
• Modify and adapt existing models to meet customer-specific requirements and project constraints
• Develop rendered specification sheets, one-pagers, and product visuals for sales and estimating use
• Assist in creating presentation materials and graphics for customer meetings, proposals, and internal reviews
• Collaborate closely with Athletic Sales, Estimating, and Engineering to:
o Conceptualize customer requirements
o Support quoting and pre-production visualization
o Ensure visuals reflect manufacturable solutions
• Translate customer needs into clear, accurate visual representations aligned with materials, finishes, and production standards
• Maintain and organize rendering files, templates, and visual asset libraries
• Support continuous improvement of visualization quality, branding consistency, and documentation standards
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience using KeyShot or a directly comparable rendering software
• Ability to work from CAD models and make geometry or visual adjustments as needed
• Experience producing customer-facing graphics, spec sheets, or marketing-style technical documents
• Strong attention to detail in materials, lighting, scale, and finish accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in industrial design, product design, visualization, or graphic design
• Familiarity with engineered or manufactured products
• Working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks or similar)
• Experience supporting sales or estimating teams
• Proficiency with layout and presentation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, or equivalent)
